Today we finally visited the Iskandar Jalil: Kembara Tanah Liat exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore!

Iskandar Jalil is one of the most established ceramic artists in Singapore and Southeast Asia. His career spans nearly half a century, beginning in the 1960s and continuing on well to today, where close to 200 of his works have been on display since September 2016 at the The Ngee Ann Kongsi Concourse Gallery and Concourse Gallery 2 at the National Gallery.

Pictured above is one of our favourite pieces from the exhibition. It was inspiring to walk around the exhibit and take in more than half a century’s worth of artwork made by a single man.

The beautiful thing about pottery pieces is how they stand the test of time, and can be handed down and appreciated by generations to come, just like all the pieces on display.

If you’d like to create such a piece for yourself to pass on to future generations, you can sign up for one of our pottery workshops today! Simply click here to join, and we’ll see you soon!
