Wheel-Throwing - Experiential Pottery

Sale price Price $83.20 Regular price $96.00

Location: 3Arts Studio @ 394 Joo Chiat Place Singapore 428078

The workshop begins with a wheel-throwing demonstration. Please be punctual as the steps are crucial for learning and you will not want to miss this! Classes will start promptly.

The 2.5-hour class is suitable for adults (individuals 12 years & up) with little or no pottery experience.

Immerse yourself in the process of throwing on the potter's wheel. Experience the peace and joy of making pottery with the guidance of an experienced instructor.

Fees include materials, tools, firing and glazing in one colour. Students will get to keep 1 of their favourite pieces from this session. You may keep more pieces, the teacher will explain during the class. Your handmade pieces will be available for collection after 8 weeks, as they require glazing with colour and 2 rounds of firing.

If you wish to glaze your own wares, the 2-Lessons option is for you! You may return to the studio to glaze your work after the pieces have been fired once in the kiln. Lesson 2 (Glazing) is about 1.5 hours.

We will arrange with you the date and time of your 2nd lesson after Lesson 1.
Glazing class.

*Terms and conditions apply. Minimum 3 persons to start a class. Please note there is strictly no sharing of wheels.

Great experience!

Have always wanted to try pottery and it was great fun! Moon and Uncle Tan was really helpful and always coming to the rescue. What seemingly looks so easy actually requires a lot of skill, strength and patience. Great experience for sure!

Good experience and explanation

My hubby and I enjoy the wheel-throwing session today. We both have no experience at all and Joyce the instructor gave a very clear instruction steps by steps to us. She answered all the questions patiently. Thank you.

Feedback

It will be good if the pace of the lesson can be slower.

Left on my own

The teachers were all moody. Non of them were friendly nor helpful. They came across inpatient and unapproachable. I end up doing it on my own and left quickly and quietly.

Convenient location, quality instruction, and a well equipped pottery studio

3arts in Joo Chiat is my goto studio for regular pottery practice by now. The instructors are mostly bilingual and participants get to choose between wheel-throwing and hand-building clay. I’m quite pleased with the quality of instruction offered during my course and will continue to enjoy everything else that this neighbourhood steeped in architectural history has to offer!
