Last Saturday, 19th August 2017, Center Pottery was one of many social enterprises present at Festival for Good at lyf@SMU! Organised by the Singapore Centre for Social Enterprise (raiSE) and Rice Communications, Festival for Good is an event where social enterprises come together to raise awareness for their various causes.
The pop-up markets, experience capsules, conversations and live performances throughout the day were not only enjoyable and engaging, but was also a way we could impact our world in a positive way.
We were lucky enough to have our own Artists’ Studio where we held workshops in hand-building techniques, introduced the public to throwing on the wheel, and talked to the public about our work with mental health patients, and the mindfulness that we emphasise in our lessons. It was heartening to see how many people were interested in affecting positive change in our world, and we are so lucky to have been a part of that.
Our workshops and trials were jam packed with people of all ages for the whole day, and we would like to thank everyone who came down and participated. We hope you had lots of fun making your own bowls, plates and holders!
Last but certainly not least, the Center Pottery team would like to thank raiSE and Rice Communications for organising this wonderful event, and we look forward to next year’s addition!
